ANDREW MOORE SHEFFIELD SEX OFFENDER BANNED FROM CONTACT WITH CHILDREN SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS IN PRISON

In a significant case that has drawn considerable attention in Sheffield, Andrew Moore, a 51-year-old man with a troubling history, has been sentenced to a five-year prison term following his violation of court-imposed restrictions related to his previous sexual offences.

Moore, who formerly resided in the Upperthorpe area of Sheffield, was found guilty in 2017 of serious sexual offences committed against two victims.

As part of his sentencing, he was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which explicitly prohibited him from having any unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16 without prior consent from the child's parents or guardians and approval from social services.

Despite these strict conditions, Moore's actions in the summer of the previous year raised alarm among local authorities and concerned parents.

Reports emerged that he had been engaging in inappropriate contact with children, including buying them expensive gifts and attempting to establish a friendship with them.

These activities were particularly troubling given his previous convictions and the restrictions placed upon him.

Further investigations revealed that Moore had been visiting a family with young children, an act that directly contravened the terms of his SHPO.

This information was corroborated by a social worker who reported the visits, raising serious concerns about the safety and well-being of the children involved.

In addition to breaching the Sexual Harm Prevention Order, Moore also violated a 21-month suspended sentence that had been imposed on him in 2017.

He was also found guilty of driving while disqualified, adding to the severity of his breaches of court orders.

On Tuesday, January 29, at Sheffield Crown Court, Moore was formally sentenced to five years in prison for his multiple violations.
