MAIDSTONE CHILD PORN PERVERT ANDREW KRONE SENTENCED TO 14 MONTHS IN JAIL FOR VILE IMAGES
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Maidstone, Andrew Krone, a 39-year-old resident of St Philip’s Avenue, was handed a significant prison sentence after being found guilty of possessing, making, and distributing a vast collection of indecent images of children. The court proceedings revealed the extent of his criminal activities, which included the possession of thousands of illicit images and videos depicting child exploitation.
Krone’s criminal conduct came to light after he rented a room in Maidstone and subsequently vacated the premises without settling his rent.
When the landlord cleared out the room, he discovered a troubling cache of indecent images of children stored on Krone’s laptop and hard drives, which had been left behind.
Concerned by the content, the landlord contacted Kent police to report the find.
Following the investigation, authorities conducted a thorough search of Krone’s electronic devices.
The police uncovered a staggering 23,378 indecent images of children, graded across severity levels one through five.
In addition, they found 10 movies depicting extreme pornography and 707 indecent movies involving children, also graded across severity levels one to five.
These findings painted a clear picture of Krone’s involvement in the distribution and possession of child exploitation material.
Further complicating his criminal record, Krone was later arrested in Scotland, where he was remanded in custody for assaulting and causing injury and permanent disfigurement to a victim, as well as for an additional offence of assault and robbery.
During his time in custody, he was brought back to Maidstone by Kent police to face additional charges related to child abuse images.
His criminal activities extended beyond the possession of indecent images, revealing a pattern of disturbing behavior.
In November 2010, Krone was already serving a prison sentence of three years and four months for the assault and robbery offences.
However, on the most recent Friday, he received an additional 14 months for his involvement with indecent images of children.
The court ordered that he serve these sentences concurrently, with 14 months for possession and distribution of child pornography and an additional six months for possessing extreme pornography.
As part of his sentencing, Krone was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for a period of 10 years.
The judge also imposed a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO), which will remain in effect for the same duration, restricting his ability to work with children and ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
These measures aim to prevent any future harm and protect vulnerable individuals from potential exploitation.
DC Nicky Griffith, a member of the child exploitation investigation team at Kent Police, commented on the case, stating, “Krone is a dangerous individual who sought to blame other people for his activities, claiming other people had been accessing his computer.
However, by tracking his activities online, and with the assistance of a number of witnesses, the truth was established – that the offences of downloading and distributing indecent images of children were entirely conducted by him.
Kent Police will continue to strive to identify and bring to justice offenders wherever they are, in our attempts to stop the evil trade in these vile images of children.”
