ANDREW HORNSBY SENTENCED IN RUSHDEN FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND INDECENT IMAGES
In October 2013, a man from Rushden was handed a significant prison sentence after being convicted of serious sexual offenses involving a minor. Andrew Hornsby, aged 35 and residing on Wellingborough Road in Rushden, appeared before Northampton Crown Court on Tuesday, October 8, to face the charges brought against him.Hornsby was found guilty of engaging in sexual activity with a child, a crime that highlights the disturbing nature of his actions. The court also convicted him of creating and possessing indecent images of a child, which he had met through online interactions. The investigation revealed that Hornsby had established contact with a young victim via the internet, where he proceeded to groom the child over a period of several months. His manipulative behavior culminated in sexual exploitation and abuse, causing significant harm to the victim.
Following the verdict, the court sentenced Hornsby to seven years in prison. Additionally, he was given an extended license period of three years upon release, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities to protect the public. As part of his sentence, Hornsby was also placed on the sex offenders’ register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing oversight and safeguarding measures to prevent further offenses.
