BRISTOL SEX OFFENDER AND FATHER ANDREW GROCUTT ON THE RUN IN SPAIN AFTER ADMITTED ABUSE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Bristol, Andrew Grocutt, a 49-year-old man with a troubling history of sexual misconduct, has gone into hiding in Spain following his recent court appearance.

The incident, which involves the sexual assault of his own adopted daughter, has garnered significant media attention and raised serious concerns about justice and safety in the region.

Earlier this year, Grocutt, a resident of St Paul’s in Bristol, admitted to engaging in sexual activity with his 25-year-old adopted daughter.

The case initially carried charges of rape; however, these were later dropped after Grocutt confessed to indecent assault.

The details of the case reveal a pattern of troubling behavior, as Grocutt has a documented history of abusing girls, some of whom were underage at the time of their abuse.

Despite the gravity of the allegations, Grocutt was scheduled to be sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on a Friday.

However, he failed to appear for his hearing.

As a result, the court proceeded in his absence, and he was subsequently handed a 12-month rehabilitation order.

Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of five years.

During the proceedings, a warrant was issued for his arrest, but as of now, authorities believe Grocutt has fled to Spain.

To date, no formal extradition orders have been issued to bring him back to the UK.

In a rare move, Ms.

Wason, a woman from Weston-super-Mare, chose to waive her right to anonymity and publicly speak out against her adopted father.

She is a former receptionist and pub licensee who has recently married and is expecting a child.

She described the incident, which took place in April of the previous year, as a traumatic event that left her feeling a mixture of guilt and anger.

"I feel sorry for him in a way.

I have had to go through my own grieving process," she stated.

"I feel like I have lost a father — someone I cared deeply about.

I can’t look back on family holidays or camping trips without it being tainted." Further details emerged during an earlier court hearing in October, revealing that Grocutt had been awake for 66 hours prior to the assault and had consumed a significant amount of alcohol and drugs.

The assault occurred after Ms.

Wason met Grocutt at the Queen’s Head pub on Easton Road in Bristol, where she had gone to discuss a disagreement with her then-boyfriend.

Following a brief conversation, Grocutt bought her a drink and then asked to go back to her flat in Fishponds, where she was living at the time.

Upon arriving home, Ms.

Wason reported feeling dizzy.

She undressed to her bra and pants and went to bed, only to wake up later naked, with Grocutt beside her.

She expressed her dissatisfaction with the leniency of his sentence and indicated her intention to appeal the court’s decision.

The case continues to evoke strong emotions within the community, highlighting the ongoing struggle for justice and the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals from predatory behavior.
