ANDREW FAULDS FROM GREENFORD AND SOUTHALL SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN LONDON AND CANADA

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local communities of Greenford and Southall, a former youth worker named Andrew Faulds has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for heinous crimes involving a severely disabled 13-year-old girl. The case came to light after law enforcement authorities uncovered a video depicting the assault, which was recorded on a mobile device and linked back to an estate in Southall, West London.

Authorities in Canada initially seized the video during an arrest, leading to a detailed investigation by the Metropolitan Police. Detectives quickly established that the footage showed a young girl with significant learning difficulties being subjected to sexual assault. The video was recorded on Saturday, March 26, 2011, and the scene matched the layout of Faulds' residence, which was located in Greenford, West London.

Following this discovery, police identified the victim and traced the video back to Faulds, who was then 40 years old. He was arrested at his home in Greenford on suspicion of rape. During the investigation, officers confirmed that Faulds had pleaded guilty to two counts of oral rape at Harrow Crown Court. Further probing revealed that Faulds possessed hundreds of indecent images of children, including one particularly disturbing video showing him performing a sex act in the same room as a young girl. This material was stored on his laptop and mobile phone.

In addition to the initial charges, Faulds faced allegations of possessing and distributing indecent images, as well as engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under 13. Today, Faulds admitted to these additional offences, which resulted in his sentencing to a total of 15 years behind bars. The case has raised serious concerns about his previous employment history, which includes roles as a learning mentor for the Ealing tuition service in Southall, a youth worker at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, and a staff member for Ealing Council’s play service.

Detectives involved in the case believe that Faulds may have committed further offences and are actively encouraging anyone with relevant information to come forward in confidence. Detective Constable Emma Macdonald expressed her condemnation of Faulds’ actions, stating, “Faulds has proven himself to be a predatory paedophile who took advantage in the most despicable way of a young girl with learning difficulties. He has an unnatural interest in children that he fuelled by accessing hundreds of indecent images and interacting with other paedophiles online. This case demonstrates the world-wide commitment to tackling child abuse and paedophilia, and I am pleased this process has led to Faulds’ conviction. He has been sentenced to a substantial jail term, thankfully putting him out of reach of other children. We believe these offences were not his first, and we would urge any other victims to approach us in confidence.”
