ANDREW CHAMBERS FROM FRODSHAM AND TARPORLEY CAUGHT WITH CHILD PORNOGRAPHY VIDEOS IN FRODSHAM

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local communities of Frodsham and Tarporley, Andrew Chambers, aged 39, was found to be in possession of illegal child pornography DVDs stored at his workplace in Frodsham. The incident came to light during a routine inspection when a colleague of Chambers, while searching through a filing cabinet at Ashton Grange Farm, discovered a DVD that contained highly inappropriate and illegal content involving minors.

According to reports presented at Chester Crown Court, the colleague was examining the contents of a filing cabinet containing various DVDs and CDs when they came across a disc belonging to Chambers. Upon viewing the disc, the colleague was horrified to find indecent images of a young boy, which prompted immediate action. Recognizing the severity of the discovery, the worker promptly removed the DVD from the player and alerted other staff members.

Following this discovery, the decision was made to access a different filing cabinet, which was subsequently forced open. Inside, authorities found a collection of further discs, some containing both adult and child pornography. The evidence was substantial enough to lead to the arrest of Andrew Chambers on August 2, the following month.

During police questioning, Chambers admitted that he had purchased the DVDs at a car boot sale, only later realizing that they contained illegal content involving minors. The investigation revealed that eight videos with child abuse material were stored on the discs found at his residence. Chambers, who resides in Birch Heath, Tarporley, was charged with multiple offenses related to the possession of indecent images of children.

In court, prosecutor Simon Parry detailed the sequence of events, emphasizing the discovery made by Chambers’ colleague and the subsequent police investigation. The court heard that Chambers had a known history of viewing adult pornography at the farm, but the possession of child pornography marked a new and serious escalation.

Chambers’ defense attorney, Richard Thomas, argued that his client had acknowledged viewing the videos but claimed they were not for his own sexual gratification. He also stated that Chambers had destroyed some of the DVDs he purchased at the car boot sale and had not watched any of the material for the past two years.

Ultimately, Chambers pleaded guilty to eight counts of possessing indecent images of children. The court sentenced him to 26 weeks in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered him to register as a sex offender for ten years. Additionally, he was mandated to complete a sex offenders’ rehabilitation program as part of his sentence, reflecting the gravity of his offenses and the ongoing concern for community safety.
