ANDREW BOYNE FROM FIFE AND STIRLING SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON YOUNG GIRLS
In a case that has shocked the local communities of Fife and Stirling, Andrew Boyne has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for heinous sexual offenses involving two young girls. The incidents, which took place several years apart, involved disturbing acts of abuse that have left lasting scars on the victims.
Boyne, who is now residing in Inverkeithing, targeted a 16-year-old girl in a flat located in Stirling while his partner was away at bingo.
The assault was particularly egregious, as the sheriff emphasized the disturbing nature of the crime, noting that the girl’s mental and developmental age was akin to that of a much younger child.
This detail made the offense “particularly distasteful,” according to the court.
Evidence presented during the trial included a video interview with the teenage victim, conducted by police officers in 2017.
In her testimony, she recounted how Boyne had initially touched her inappropriately beneath her bedcovers, causing her to “freeze” in fear.
She explained that a few days after this initial incident, Boyne’s partner and another man visited the bingo hall, leaving Boyne alone with her in the flat.
During this time, Boyne handcuffed her with what she described as “really tight” silver chain-type handcuffs, a detail that underscored the severity of her ordeal.
When questioned by officers about what happened while the cuffs were on, the girl explained that she was unable to move or defend herself, as she was restrained and vulnerable.
She described her pajamas, noting that her feet were dangling off the edge of the bed, emphasizing her helplessness.
The victim also revealed that she was frightened during the incident and later confided in a relative about what had transpired.
Fast forward to her current age of 19, she described the experience as “horrible,” reflecting the lasting trauma inflicted by Boyne’s actions.
The court also heard from an older victim, who was 18 at the time of her assault in May 2012.
She was staying in a bed and breakfast in Stirling’s Raploch area when Boyne sexually assaulted her, adding to the gravity of his criminal behavior.
In delivering the sentence, Sheriff emphasized the seriousness of the offenses, particularly highlighting the second incident.
He pointed out that although the second victim was around 16 years old at the time, her mental and emotional development was comparable to that of a much younger child.
The sheriff’s comments underscored the disturbing nature of Boyne’s crimes and the impact on the victims, leading to the 30-month imprisonment that reflects the court’s condemnation of such conduct.
