LEIGH: PERVERT JAILED AGAIN BY COURT FOR TAKING PHOTOS OF WOMEN
A PERVERT has been put back behind bars after again being caught taking photos of women in public in Leigh.Andrew Andy, who is also known as Andrew Smoggie and Andrew Mackie, was sentenced to jail for breaching a court order.
The 55-year-old of Warrington was previously imprisoned for two years and four months in January 2023 for taking over 1,700 photos of women's bottoms while in city centers.
He was jailed at Bolton Crown Court recently, charged with sexual assault and breaching a sexual harm prevention order.
He was made subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order on October 22, 2021, which bans him from using his phone to capture images of women he does not know in public.
On May 13 this year, in Leigh, he used his phone to intentionally capture images of a woman he did not know, which he failed to provide when asked by police.
Andy also sexually assaulted a woman by touching her without consent on the same day.
He was sentenced to two years and six months in prison, to be served immediately, and will sign the sex offender register for the next seven years.
The court also approved a prosecution order to deprive him of his mobile phone.
This is not his first breach; in January 2023, he was caught in Manchester taking photos of women’s bottoms, with some as young as 13 or 14 and others in their 60s.
The court noted that these images were not indecent, but the previous conviction was related to upskirt photos.
All of this occurred despite his ongoing court restrictions.
