HULL MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR BRUTAL MURDER OF GIRLFRIEND
A 21-year-old Polish man named Amadeusz Sekula has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Klaudia Soltys.The court heard that he savagely stabbed her multiple times in a rage at their flat situated in Lambert Street, Hull.
The attack involved multiple deep stab wounds to her neck, including one that severed her voice box and her left jugular vein, which caused her death.
Sekula was characterized as jealous, controlling, and manipulative, with evidence of him spying on her conversations, hacking her Facebook account, and locking her inside their home for hours.
The behaviors were described as oppressive and manipulative, especially his violent reactions when she communicated with others, notably men during gaming.
After initially pleading guilty to manslaughter, Sekula admitted full responsibility for her murder.
During sentencing, Judge John Thackray QC labeled the killing as ‘undoubtedly savage, ferocious and frenzied,’ noting it was driven by jealousy and acted as a final act of control.
He is to serve a minimum term of 16 years and 277 days before being eligible for parole.
The defendant had no prior convictions and showed remorse during police interviews by apologizing.
