ALLEN WILTON FROM ALDERSHOT SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE IN NORTHAMPTON

In a case that has shocked the local community of Aldershot and the wider Hampshire area, Allen Wilton, a 40-year-old man from Ash Road, Aldershot, was involved in a disturbing criminal act that has left a lasting impact on a young victim. Wilton, who previously had a conviction for indecent assault on a schoolboy, was found guilty of engaging in sexual activity with a minor during a long-distance trip.

Top judges at London’s Criminal Appeal Court, including Mr Justice Christopher Clarke, Lord Justice Laws, and Mr Justice Griffith Williams, reviewed Wilton’s case. They acknowledged Wilton’s prior conviction for indecent assault but also recognized the severity of his latest crime and its impact on the victim’s youth. The court noted that Wilton had carefully groomed the boy, manipulating him into submission and instilling fear that prevented him from resisting.

While the judges agreed that Wilton’s actions were grave and deserving of punishment, they also considered that the original three-year sentence was excessively harsh. After deliberation, Mr Justice Clarke announced that Wilton’s sentence would be reduced to two and a half years, reflecting a balance between justice and mercy.
