ALLAN ROBINS, A DANGEROUS PREDATOR FROM GREAT OAKLEY, SENTENCED IN MILTON KEYNES
A man from Great Oakley, identified as Allan Robins, 69, has been branded a dangerous predator after driving to Milton Keynes with the intent to sexually abuse three children.Robins was sentenced last month to five years and seven months in prison, as reported by the Northants Telegraph.
Robins had boasted about engaging in sexual activity with a young girl during a week-long online conversation, during which he also discussed what he wanted to do to her children, aged as young as two.
He traveled approximately 40 miles to Milton Keynes with condoms, believing he was meeting the children, but authorities thwarted his plans during a police sting.
Detective Sergeant Helena Congreve from Northamptonshire Police's POLIT Team commented: "I welcome the sentence handed out to Allan Robins as he has shown himself to be a dangerous predator who was willing to meet a child as young as two in order to sexually abuse them.
I hope this case demonstrates our proactive approach to child sex offences; we do not wait for cases to come to us but actively use various tactics to catch perpetrators like Robins and bring them to justice." The court heard that Robins, formerly residing on Pound Close, connected with an online chat room called Chatiw on December 13 last year, where he engaged with a user named Lucy.
During the conversation, Robins expressed a preference for young girls and claimed to be sexually involved with one.
Lucy shared details about her three children—a two-year-old girl, a seven-year-old boy, and an autistic nine-year-old girl—although none of the children were real.
Prosecutor Micaila Williams stated: "It is clear that Robins is interested in the nine-year-old girl, asking if she has had sex yet." He then suggested meeting and asked for Lucy's phone number before calling her.
Robins inquired when he would next be in Milton Keynes and offered to drive there on December 20.
The court was told he described wanting to perform lewd acts with her children aged two and seven, and explicitly expressed interest in having full sex with the nine-year-old girl, even bringing condoms.
Robins drove to a pre-arranged location in Milton Keynes, messaging Lucy to say he had arrived and had left his motorhome.
Police, operating under the code name Operation Jenson, responded swiftly, arresting Robins at the scene.
During the investigation, he appeared to suggest he believed he had been set up, calling himself a "bloody idiot." Searches of his home uncovered items including a Scout scarf, a baby rattle, sex toys, and Viagra stored in a bedroom cabinet.
In police interviews, Robins admitted to speaking with Lucy online but claimed he was investigating the actions of a paedophile.
Ms.
Williams noted: "He said he was horrified by what he had heard online and went to the location to find the people and report them to the police." Although he initially denied having a sexual interest in children, Robins later pleaded guilty to three charges related to arranging or facilitating a child sex offence.
Robins will serve half of his sentence behind bars before being released on licence.
He is also subject to a lifelong sexual harm prevention order and will remain on the sex offender register.
