OFFENDER JAILED FOR VIOLENT ABUSIVE ASSAULT OF YOUNG WOMAN
A woman named Chloe Fewster, aged 20, from Hull, East Yorkshire, was subjected to a brutal three-week ordeal of abuse by her boyfriend, Allan MacGilvray, aged 25.During this period, he strangled her, hit her with a meat cleaver, and inflicted cuts on her head, face, and ears.
MacGilvray used Chloe’s phone to tell her friends she was fine while he held her captive.
Chloe’s family feared she was dead and launched a police search after she went missing on Christmas Day when MacGilvray dragged her from her mum's house.
He took her to an address in Scunthorpe and they stayed at friends’ houses while homeless.
Chloe described feeling terrified, thinking he might kill her, and recounted how he beat her regularly.
The court sentenced MacGilvray to three years for assaulting Chloe and a one-year sentence for assaulting another woman, describing him as a "volatile, controlling and dangerous man." This man has 65 convictions including violence, controlling and coercive behavior, assault causing actual bodily harm, firearms possession, and false imprisonment.
The court branded him a 'highly unpredictable, volatile, controlling and dangerous man.' During her escape, Chloe managed to flee after MacGilvray became incapacitated due to taking the drug Spice.
She was found in Lincoln with marks from a meat cleaver, a knife dug into her ribs, and her throat held in a choke-hold.
Chloe recounted, "Police finally found me in Lincoln, black and blue, with marks in my head from a meat cleaver.
I'd had a knife dug in my ribs and held to my throat.
He put a pillow over my face and strangled me from behind like a choke-hold and made me pass out." MacGilvray was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court and was described as a 'dangerous man.' He has a long history of violent offenses and controlling behavior.
Chloe now feels depressed and isolated, unable to work, and distrusts men.
She criticized the justice she received, saying, "He got one year for me because he pleaded guilty.
After everything that I went through, getting battered every day and wondering if he’s going to end up killing me as things were getting worse every day, what was even the point?
This isn't justice at all."
