ALLAN HALL FROM BIRCHES HEAD SENTENCED TO 11 YEARS FOR CHILD RAPE IN STOKE-ON-TRENT

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Birches Head and the wider Stoke-on-Trent area, Allan Hall, aged 59, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 11 years after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses involving a young girl. The crimes spanned several years, during which Hall repeatedly abused the victim, a schoolgirl, in a manner that has left her emotionally scarred and deeply affected.

The case came to light after the victim, demonstrating remarkable courage, confronted Hall when he attempted to sexually assault her again last year. She promptly reported the incident to the police, revealing that Hall had also raped her on several occasions in the past. Her bravery in coming forward was instrumental in bringing the case to court and ensuring justice was served.

During the trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, the prosecution, led by Andrew Jackson, detailed the extent of Hall’s abuse. The jury found Hall guilty of two charges of raping a child under 13, two charges of rape, and one count of attempted sexual assault. The court heard that Hall’s pattern of abuse was ongoing and systematic, with the offences occurring over a period of years, highlighting a disturbing pattern of grooming and exploitation.

Prosecutor Jackson emphasized that Hall’s misconduct was not an isolated incident but a series of calculated acts. He recounted that Hall had taken a chance on assaulting the girl on March 26 of the previous year, but this time, the victim resisted and reported him to the authorities. The impact on the victim has been profound; she is reported to be experiencing anxiety and emotional distress, although she is actively trying to move past her traumatic experiences.

Throughout the proceedings, Hall, who was formerly residing on Campbell Terrace in Birches Head, maintained his innocence, denying all six charges brought against him. However, after a thorough trial, he was convicted of five of those charges. His defense lawyer, Anis Ali, acknowledged that Hall continued to deny the offences, despite the evidence presented.

Judge David Fletcher addressed the court, describing Hall’s actions as involving grooming and manipulation. He stated, “You isolated her. You carried out this behaviour on a regular basis,” underscoring the severity and calculated nature of Hall’s misconduct. The judge also noted that Hall’s offending was characterized by a pattern of grooming, which involved isolating the victim and exploiting her trust.

As part of his sentence, Hall was subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which prohibits him from having unsupervised contact with any girl under the age of 16 until further notice from the court. Additionally, he will be registered as a sex offender for the remainder of his life. The court ordered that Hall serve half of his 11-year sentence in custody, with the remaining period on license supervised by probation authorities, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his conduct.

This case has once again highlighted the importance of vigilance and the need for robust measures to protect vulnerable children from predators like Allan Hall, whose actions have caused irreparable harm to his victim and have shaken the community of Birches Head and Stoke-on-Trent as a whole.
