ALLAN DYCHE'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN ABERGELE LEAD TO 23-YEAR JAIL SENTENCE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Abergele, Allan Malcolm Dyche, aged 67, was sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being convicted of multiple heinous sexual offences. The court heard how Dyche, a man with a troubling history of hoarding and collecting bizarre and illegal items, committed acts of child abuse that left lasting scars on his victims.

Dyche’s criminal activities came to light in 2017 when police executed a search warrant at his residence on Peel Street in Abergele. During the investigation, officers discovered a disturbing collection stored in a bedside drawer, which Dyche referred to as his “memory box.” This box contained a variety of incriminating items, including intimate hair samples from one of his victims. The presence of these samples was a crucial piece of evidence, as DNA testing confirmed their connection to a victim who, due to legal restrictions, cannot be publicly identified.

Dyche’s background revealed a pattern of collecting and hoarding unusual items. Previously, he had been prosecuted for possessing an illegal stash of approximately 500 wild bird eggs, a crime that he described as his “little vice.” His history of hoarding extended beyond eggs, and the recent discovery of the “memory box” added a new, disturbing dimension to his criminal profile.

During the trial at Caernarfon Crown Court, Judge Huw Rees described the contents of the box as a stark illustration of Dyche’s “overwhelming perversion.” The court was informed that Dyche’s actions had devastating effects on his victims. One victim, whose identity remains protected, testified that Dyche’s abuse had ruined their life, while another expressed that they could “never see their life being the same again.” The primary victim, who was too frightened to speak out earlier, finally found the courage to share their suffering.

In an impact statement read aloud by prosecutor Anna Pope, the victim described the emotional toll of the abuse: “I always had to hide a secret. I wanted to die inside. I have wanted to speak out for many years. How could I stay quiet about what happened to me? I will always have painful, unhappy memories.” The forensic evidence, particularly the hair samples, further compounded the victim’s distress, with one stating that the evidence “makes me sick to the core.”

After a thorough trial, a jury found Dyche guilty of 18 sexual offence charges, including child rape. The court’s decision was unequivocal, and Dyche showed no visible emotion as he was sentenced to 23 years in prison. Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
