LINCOLN PAEDOPHILE ALISTAIR HACKNEY SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST TEEN IN LINCOLN
In January 2021, a disturbing case emerged from Lincoln involving a young man named Alistair Hackney, who was convicted of engaging in heinous sexual misconduct against a 14-year-old girl.Hackney, aged 24 and residing on St Peter’s Avenue in Lincoln, was found guilty of grooming the minor and committing multiple sexual offences, leading to a significant prison sentence.
Judge John Pini QC, presiding over the case at Lincoln Crown Court, described Hackney’s actions as “deeply depraved” and emphasized the manipulative and coercive tactics he employed.
The judge stated, “You groomed this 14-year-old and exploited her.
She was a very young pawn in your game.
She felt pressured.
You used controlling and deeply manipulative coercion on her, all for your own sexual purposes.” During the sentencing, Judge Pini highlighted the extent of Hackney’s deceitfulness and control, noting the emotional damage inflicted upon the victim.
The court heard that Hackney had admitted to three counts of sexual activity with a minor, which took place in January 2018.
Additionally, he pleaded guilty to a charge of engaging in sexual communication with a child.
The case revealed a disturbing pattern of behavior initiated through social media.
Prosecutor Laura Pitman explained that Hackney first contacted the girl via Facebook.
Within a few weeks, they arranged to meet at the Carlton Centre in Lincoln.
Following their meeting, Hackney maintained almost daily contact with the girl, persuading her to send him indecent photographs and videos.
He claimed that viewing these images helped him cope with depression and anxiety, which added a manipulative layer to his grooming tactics.
Further details uncovered during the investigation revealed Hackney’s alarming mental health threats.
On one occasion, he held a knife to his chest, indicating suicidal thoughts, and on another, he appeared to groan in pain after ingesting eight or nine Paracetamol tablets, suggesting an attempt at self-harm.
Messages exchanged between Hackney and the girl revealed his explicit desire for sexual activity, with him stating he “needed sex.” The sexual offences occurred when the girl visited his home, where Hackney committed multiple acts of a sexual nature against her.
These offences came to light after Hackney posted messages in a group chat, which led to the girl’s school being informed.
Her mother, believing her daughter had deleted Hackney from her Facebook friends, was contacted by the school.
Upon checking her daughter’s iPad, the mother discovered evidence that prompted police involvement.
The repercussions of Hackney’s actions have been devastating for the victim and her family.
The girl has since engaged in self-harming behaviors and is currently receiving mental health support to cope with the trauma inflicted upon her.
The court’s decision reflects the severity of the crimes and the need to protect vulnerable minors from such predatory behavior.
