ALI JAFARI FROM GREAT HORTON ESCAPES JAIL AFTER SHOWING VILE VIDEO OF GIRL BEING RAPED
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, 22-year-old Ali Jafari, a refugee originally from Iran, narrowly avoided imprisonment after admitting to showing a deeply disturbing and vile video clip to a neighbour in Great Horton.The incident, which took place in March of the previous year, involved a three-minute footage depicting a four-year-old girl being subjected to sexual assault, a scene that was both distressing and utterly unacceptable.
Jafari, who was residing in a hostel on Cross Lane in Great Horton at the time, did not delete the video after viewing it.
Instead, he stored it securely in a password-protected section of his phone, indicating an awareness of its inappropriate nature.
The neighbour to whom he showed the clip became alarmed by the content and subsequently reported the matter to the police, leading to Jafari’s arrest.
During the court proceedings, prosecutor Catherine Duffy detailed the disturbing interaction.
She revealed that Jafari had told the neighbour, “Look, she’s four-years-old and she loves it,” while showing the video.
Witnesses observed that after the incident, Jafari walked away down the street, laughing and making a masturbating gesture, further demonstrating his disturbing attitude towards the matter.
Following his arrest later that day, Jafari explained to police that he had received the video via Facebook Messenger.
He claimed that his initial reaction was one of shock, which prompted him to show the clip to the neighbour.
He also stated that he used a privacy protection app called Gallery Vault to hide the video on his phone, claiming he did not want anyone else to see it.
Judge Jonathan Rose addressed the court, emphasizing that regardless of Jafari’s background, culture, or personal difficulties, the content of the video was unequivocally appalling and disgusting.
The judge remarked, “It is not clear which is the real you,” but stressed that the nature of the video transcended personal circumstances.
“It does not depend on your maturity.
It does not matter from what country you came,” he said.
The judge further explained that recognizing the heinousness of such material requires no special age, maturity, or wisdom.
He highlighted that the creation and viewing of such videos perpetuate the abuse of children, stating, “Every video that includes the abuse of a child – every viewing of such a video continues the abuse of a child.
You are the market for such filth to be created.” While acknowledging that Jafari had not actively sought out child pornography online, the judge pointed out that a decent human being would have deleted the video immediately upon receipt.
Instead, Jafari chose to keep it on his phone, knowing exactly where it was, which indicated that it aroused him sexually, a point Jafari refused to accept.
In sentencing, Judge Rose imposed a two-year prison sentence, suspended for two years, meaning Jafari would not serve time unless he committed further offences within that period.
Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years and to comply with a sexual harm prevention order for the same duration.
The court also mandated that Jafari complete 250 hours of community service and participate in 40 days of rehabilitation activities.
This case underscores the serious consequences of possessing and sharing such vile material, regardless of personal background or circumstances.
