EXETER MAN ALFIE PILKINGTON THREATENS SCHOOLS AND NURSERIES IN EXETER CAUSING PANIC

A 30-year-old man named Alfie Pilkington, residing in Exeter, has been taken into custody following serious allegations of sending threatening messages online that targeted local educational institutions. The threats, which specifically mentioned harming children in nurseries and schools within Exeter, prompted immediate and widespread panic among parents, staff, and students alike.

On Friday, April 25, officers from Devon and Cornwall Police executed an arrest operation against Pilkington. The police action was prompted by reports of malicious communications posted on social media platforms, which contained disturbing threats to kill children in Exeter’s schools and nurseries. These messages, believed to have been shared on Wednesday, April 23, and Thursday, April 24, caused alarm across the community and led to emergency responses from local authorities.

Following his arrest, Alfie Pilkington was formally charged with two counts of malicious communications. The charges relate directly to the threatening messages that circulated online during the specified dates. Pilkington, who lives on Redlands Close in Exeter, was brought before Exeter Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning. During the hearing, no plea was entered, and he was remanded into custody pending further legal proceedings. The case has been scheduled for a plea and trial preparation hearing at Exeter Crown Court on May 29.

Devon and Cornwall Police have issued a statement emphasizing the seriousness of the case. A police spokesperson confirmed that the charges stem from investigations into the online threats that caused significant concern among the local community. The police have urged the public to refrain from speculation or sharing unverified information online, as the case remains active and ongoing in the judicial system.

Authorities have revealed that the threats, which caused the lockdown of approximately five schools and nurseries in Exeter, were posted on social media and echoed language associated with previous mass violence incidents. The police confirmed that Alfie Pilkington was apprehended while loitering outside St Luke’s School, a location that was among those targeted by the threats.

It is also known that Pilkington has prior convictions related to violence and alcohol-related offences, which has added to the community’s concern regarding his actions. The police have assured residents that they are actively investigating the case and will continue to monitor the situation closely. Meanwhile, the community remains on high alert as authorities work to ensure the safety of children and staff in Exeter’s educational facilities during this tense period.
