ALEXANDER TAYLOR FROM FRASERBURGH SENTENCED FOR ABUSE IN ABERDEENSHIRE

In April 2012, Alexander Taylor, a 25-year-old resident of Fraserburgh, was sentenced to 32 months in prison after being convicted of sexually abusing two young girls in Aberdeenshire. The heinous acts spanned several years, beginning when Taylor was just 14 years old and continuing until he reached the age of 20.

According to court records, Taylor admitted to molesting one girl when she was only five years old and another victim when she was 12. The disturbing timeline reveals that the abuse started early in his teenage years and persisted over a significant period, causing profound trauma to the victims.

The case was heard at the High Court in Edinburgh, where Judge Lord Woolman addressed the court and emphasized the serious nature of the crimes. He stated, “Sexual abuse can have a profound effect,” highlighting the lasting impact such offenses can have on victims.

Following his arrest, Taylor confessed to police that he had committed acts that he described as “horribly, horribly wrong” towards the two girls. During the proceedings, he expressed remorse for his actions, acknowledging the gravity of his misconduct.

Defense lawyer Shahid Latif argued that Taylor had led an otherwise unblemished life and was genuinely remorseful. He emphasized that his client had begun the process of rehabilitation and recognized the wrongfulness of his conduct.

Despite these mitigating factors, Lord Woolman explained that only a custodial sentence was appropriate given the severity of the offenses. In addition to his prison term, Taylor was ordered to register as a sex offender, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions to protect the community.
