ALEXANDER SEDDON FROM ANFIELD INVOLVED IN HIT-AND-RUN IN EVERTON AND BURLEIGH MEWS

In an incident that shocked the local community, Alexander Seddon, a known sex offender from Anfield, was involved in a violent and reckless act in Everton, which culminated in a serious hit-and-run involving a young schoolboy. The events unfolded early in the morning on June 19, when Seddon, who had a troubling criminal history, targeted a milkman and used violence to hijack his vehicle.

According to reports, Kevin Hynes, a milkman operating in the area, was assaulted by Seddon, who then forcibly took control of his milk float. Witnesses say that Seddon, accompanied by an unidentified accomplice, drove the hijacked vehicle at high speed through the streets of Everton, displaying a blatant disregard for public safety. The chaos reached a tragic peak at the junction of Burleigh Mews and Robson Street, where Seddon’s vehicle struck a 13-year-old boy who was crossing the road.

The impact was severe, leaving the young victim with a head injury that required immediate hospital treatment. Emergency services responded swiftly, and the boy was rushed to the hospital, where he was reported to be in serious condition. The collision caused panic among local residents, many of whom witnessed the aftermath of the crash and the fleeing suspects.

Following the incident, Seddon and his unknown accomplice fled the scene on foot, abandoning the scene and leaving the injured boy lying helplessly in the roadway. The police launched an extensive manhunt, which quickly led to the arrest of Seddon. He was taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses, including robbery, dangerous driving, and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Seddon, aged 31 and residing on Paley Close in Anfield, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court via video link from HMP Liverpool. During the hearing, he admitted to charges of assault, aggravated vehicle taking, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and failing to stop. The court proceedings revealed his prior criminal record, which includes a 12-month prison sentence for sexual assault, as well as convictions for violent assaults, drug offenses, robbery, and theft.

The judge, Robert Trevor-Jones, decided to adjourn the case until September 1, when Seddon is scheduled to appear again in court. He was remanded in custody until that date. The incident has reignited concerns about public safety and the dangers posed by repeat offenders with violent histories, especially in residential areas like Anfield and Everton.
