A man aged 40, who was found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman at a Melrose pub, has been fined £400 and required to register as a sex offender for a period of five years.
During the hearing at Selkirk Sheriff Court, Alexander Pringle, who resides near Galashiels, was documented to have touched the woman’s breasts at The Ship Inn on New Year’s Day.
Along with the monetary penalty, he was instructed to compensate his victim with a sum of £100.
Furthermore, a standard victim surcharge of £20 was also imposed as part of the court’s order.
