NOTTINGHAM MAN JAILED FOR EMOTIONAL AND CONTROLLING ABUSE OF EX-PARTNER
A 36-year-old man named Alexander Pedley continued to reside at his ex-partner's residence for several months despite being asked to leave, and he persisted in his harassing behavior even after his departure.Pedley emotionally controlled his victim for nearly two years, from December 2021 until October 2023, attempting to exert control over her life.
He shone lights through her windows during unwanted visits and sent her threatening messages.
Pedley pleaded guilty to engaging in controlling and coercive behavior and was sentenced to two years and nine months in prison at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, February 9.
Nottinghamshire Police investigator Gabby Luson expressed her gratitude for the victim's bravery and hoped the sentence would bring her comfort.
She emphasized the difficulty of dealing with controlling relationships and encouraged others to seek help for domestic abuse, assuring that police are ready to assist and urge anyone in danger to call 999.
