ALEXANDER HAMILTON'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN GLENROTHES: SEXUAL REMARKS, THEFT, AND RACIAL ABUSE

Alexander Hamilton, a 53-year-old resident of Glenrothes, has been sentenced to 14 months in prison following a series of disturbing incidents at the local bus station and nearby locations. The court heard that Hamilton's actions included making inappropriate sexual remarks to a 15-year-old girl, as well as engaging in theft and racially abusive behavior.

On July 31 of the previous year, the teenager was at the Glenrothes bus station when Hamilton approached her and asked her age. His comments quickly turned inappropriate and offensive when he told her, "you have good boobs and a bum for a 15-year-old," leaving her feeling alarmed and very uncomfortable. This incident was part of a pattern of troubling conduct at the same location.

Earlier, Hamilton had already been involved in violent and racially charged incidents at the bus station. On June 22, he reacted violently after being told he was banned from using Stagecoach buses, a ban imposed after he left blood-soaked bandages on a coach. In a fit of rage, he struck a bus service supervisor with his crutch, causing a head injury. His aggressive behavior did not stop there.

On August 19, 2023, Hamilton was recorded acting in a racially aggravated manner at the bus station. He repeatedly directed racist abuse at a man and raised his crutch in an aggressive manner, further demonstrating his volatile and hostile conduct in public spaces.

In addition to his misconduct at the bus station, Hamilton committed theft on June 15 of the previous year. At an address in Postgate, Glenrothes, he stole a sum of cash from an 81-year-old man, adding to the list of his criminal activities.

Hamilton appeared before Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court via video link from prison to face sentencing. He had previously pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including directing sexual verbal communications at a child, assault, theft, and racially aggravated behavior. Prosecutor Matthew Knapp described the teenager's reaction as being "alarmed and very uncomfortable" during the incident.

During the hearing, defense lawyer Calum Harris explained that Hamilton was under the influence at the time of the sexual remark and had little recollection of the event. The court also noted that Hamilton had been warned at the bus station about his behavior, which led to his ban from Stagecoach buses. His history of substance abuse was also highlighted, with Mr. Harris revealing that Hamilton had been sleeping rough for three years prior to his remand in March. The lawyer further disclosed that Hamilton has been a drug user since the age of 13, initially introduced to heroin and more recently crack cocaine, which may have contributed to his erratic and criminal conduct.
