EDINBURGH MAN GUILTY OF ONLINE CHILD SEXUAL COMMUNICATION AND IMAGE SHARING
Alexanda Loverock, aged 35, engaged in a disturbing online sexual encounter with a decoy posing as a 14-year-old girl.He contacted her via social media, sending explicit messages where he called her 'cute' and inquired if she was 'into older [men]'.
When informed she was only 14, Loverock responded that he 'didn't mind'.
He further instructed her on masturbation, told her 'it will feel good', and sent a graphic image of his erect penis after claiming he 'was playing with himself'.
Prosecutors revealed Loverock had initially contacted a social media profile pretending to be a teenage girl named 'Stacey' and switched their chat to WhatsApp and Snapchat.
During the conversation, he openly asked if she was into older men, and when she said she was only 14, he said he 'didn't mind'.
Despite the explicit content, Loverock was deceived by a paedophile hunter group and was live-streamed to more than 70,000 viewers before being reported to police, who found evidence including his messages and images.
He pleaded guilty to two charges: sending sexual written communication and a sexual image to who he believed was a minor, between October 20 and 31 this year.
The court was told he also discussed masturbation techniques and explicitly mentioned 'it will feel good'.
The judge ordered Loverock to register as a sex offender and deferred sentencing for further reports and assessments.
His name will also be referred to Scottish Ministers for potential inclusion on the list of individuals unsuitable for working with children and vulnerable adults.
