ALBERT MAUGHAN FROM GATESHEAD CAUGHT IN ONLINE PREDATOR STING

A man identified as Albert Maughan, a resident of Gateshead, has been apprehended following a serious online grooming investigation. The incident unfolded after authorities launched a targeted sting operation aimed at catching individuals attempting to exploit minors through digital communication.

During the operation, Maughan engaged with what he believed to be a 14-year-old girl, but in reality, he was communicating with undercover police officers. The investigation revealed that Maughan had sent explicit images to the supposed minor and had also arrived at the designated meeting location with condoms, indicating his intent to engage in sexual activity.
