ALAN WALKER JAILED IN BUCKSHAW VILLAGE FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES

In November 2013, a man named Alan Walker was sentenced to six months in prison after a police raid uncovered nearly 100 indecent images of children at his residence in Buckshaw Village. Walker, aged 41, had previously been registered as a sex offender for a decade following a conviction in 2003 for creating indecent images. Despite the expiration of his previous sex offender registration order, authorities found that Walker had resumed downloading illegal material involving minors.

Preston Crown Court was informed that officers identified Walker’s home, located on Buckshaw Hall Close in Buckshaw Village, as a potential site for the possession and downloading of indecent images. Acting on intelligence, law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at Walker’s residence, which he shared with his elderly mother. During the search, they confiscated two laptops, an external hard drive, and a USB stick for examination.

Analysis of the seized devices revealed the presence of 97 indecent images of children, most of whom appeared to be under the age of 13. Walker initially denied any involvement with child pornography, claiming that he was merely searching for adult naturist websites. However, he later admitted to possessing three counts of indecent images, which ranged from level one to level four in severity.

Walker’s defense lawyer, Fiona Wise, explained to the court that her client had recently lost his job and was experiencing low self-esteem. She also mentioned that Walker’s wife, whom he met through an internet chatroom, was currently living in Ukraine as they worked through visa issues to reunite in the UK. Wise further noted that Walker had completed a sex offender treatment program while incarcerated following his previous convictions.

Judge Graham Knowles delivered the sentence, emphasizing the gravity of the offense. He stated, “I don’t need to explain to you the harm that is done to children when they are required to pose or behave as the children I have had to look at today have been required to do. You have had all that explained to you when you were sentenced before and you had it all explained to you on the course. You know and have heard about the horror of a child growing into an adult life knowing that beyond their control around the world these images are used to feed fantasies of men who have the sexual perversion you have.”
