ALAN SMITH OF ANDOVER PLEADS GUILTY TO GROOMING UNDERAGE GIRL AT WINCHESTER CROWN COURT

A man from Andover has admitted to grooming an underage girl, who was actually an online decoy.

Alan Smith, of Collingwood Walk, pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a minor for sexual activity.

The offence occurred between July 3 and September 8 of last year, but court records reveal that Smith was communicating with a decoy rather than a real child.

He appeared at Winchester Crown Court on Friday, November 13.

Smith, aged 40, is scheduled to be sentenced at the same court on December 18.
