ALAN PARSONS FROM NEWPORT GROOMED UNDERAGE SCHOOLGIRLS IN BOLD CRIMINAL PLOT
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the Newport community, Alan Parsons, aged 25, of Clearwell Court, Bassaleg, was found guilty of multiple grooming offences involving underage schoolgirls. The offences, which took place during the summer of 2018, involved Parsons engaging in manipulative and predatory behavior aimed at six girls aged between 13 and 15 years old.
Parsons pleaded guilty to a total of seven charges before Cardiff Crown Court.
These charges included attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming and six counts of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.
The court heard that Parsons had deliberately targeted vulnerable young girls, exploiting their innocence for his own illicit purposes.
During the hearing, Parsons was represented by Eugene Egan, who requested an adjournment of the case to allow for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
The judge presiding over the case, Judge Daniel Williams, scheduled the sentencing for February 12.
Parsons, who was granted conditional bail, was warned by the judge that he could face a prison sentence when the final judgment is delivered.
Prosecutor Nigel Fryer presented the case on behalf of the Crown, emphasizing the seriousness of Parsons' actions and the impact on the victims.
The case has raised concerns about online grooming and the safety of young girls in the Newport area, prompting calls for increased vigilance and protective measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
