ALAN HOLMES SHIPLEY PAEDOPHILE SENTENCED TO 12 YEARS FOR EVIL GROOMING MANUAL AND CHILD ABUSE

In a chilling case that has shocked the community of Shipley, Alan Holmes, aged 36, has been sentenced to a 12-year prison term after being found guilty of producing a grotesque manual that detailed methods of grooming and abusing young girls. The court heard that Holmes created what a judge described as “a foul and evil manual,” which served as a guide for fellow paedophiles on how to manipulate and exploit victims from the moment they are born.

Holmes’s disturbing activities included experimenting on a young girl to develop graphic suggestions for abuse, encouraging others to “have fun, be creative” in their heinous acts. His criminal conduct extended beyond the manual; police discovered that he had amassed a staggering collection of indecent images and videos of children at his residence on Owlet Road, Shipley. The authorities found more than 70,000 such illicit images and movies during a raid in July 2014.

The court was told that Holmes had also created a disturbing PowerPoint-style presentation, which served as a step-by-step guide on how to groom and abuse a girl from birth. Prosecutor Dave Mackay emphasized that the purpose of this material was not only to facilitate abuse but also to promote the creation and distribution of images and videos depicting such acts. The 20-page “manual” contained graphic instructions and images, culminating in a final slide that urged abusers to “have fun and be creative.”

Further evidence revealed that Holmes had a collection of dozens of indecent images of a specific young girl, along with a four-minute video of her performing a sexual act. During the investigation, Holmes threatened to stab the girl if she disclosed his abuse. Despite being on bail while investigations continued, Holmes was caught twice more with additional indecent images and videos, bringing his total collection to nearly 44,000 images and over 5,000 movies.

Holmes, who had no prior convictions, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including two counts of oral rape, sexual assault of a child, causing a child to engage in sexual activity, and making and possessing indecent images along with extreme pornography. Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC described Holmes as “a truly dangerous predatory paedophile,” highlighting his emotional display of tears of self-pity in the dock at Bradford Crown Court.

The judge condemned Holmes for his role in further humiliating and degrading the young girl by photographing her during the abuse, following the depraved instructions set out in his “foul and evil manual.” He expressed disbelief that any human could author such “utter evil filth,” which essentially served as a guide for the sexual abuse of children. The possession of such extensive indecent material demonstrated Holmes’s “dedication to his depravity.”

As part of his sentence, Holmes is required to register as a sex offender for life and is subject to a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order. His prison term includes an additional six years on a closely monitored license, ensuring ongoing supervision of his activities after release. The case has left a lasting scar on the community of Shipley, highlighting the importance of vigilance and swift justice in protecting vulnerable children from such heinous crimes.
