February 2005 Child abuse images man jailed for a year An East Yorkshire man who had 11,000 indecent images of children on his computer has been jailed for 12 months. Alan Goodrich, 47, of Barmby on the Marsh, near Goole, was sentenced at Hull Crown Court on Friday. He had previously admitted possessing and distributing indecent photographs of children as young as five years old. Humberside Police said: “We remain committed to the protection of children from all forms of abuse and will continue to prosecute these offenders.” The officer in the case, Lynn Topham, said: “Goodrich had possession of some of those photographs with the intention of distributing them to other like-minded, sickening individuals engaged in this activity and had indeed done so on one occasion.  “What must be remembered is that this is not a victimless crime but one where children are abused to provide these photographs and movies”
