ALAN FORD OF WORCESTER FACES JAIL AFTER HORRIFIC CHILD AND ANIMAL PORNOGRAPHY DISCOVERY
In April 2023, Alan Ford, a 65-year-old resident of Sunnyside Road in Worcester, found himself at the center of a serious criminal case involving the possession and creation of highly disturbing and illegal images.Ford appeared before Worcester Crown Court to face multiple charges related to the possession of indecent images of children and extreme pornography involving animals.
During the court proceedings, Ford admitted to five counts of criminal activity.
These included three counts of making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child, one count of possessing a prohibited image of a child, and an additional count of possessing an extreme pornographic image depicting a sexual act with a dog.
The offences spanned a period from April 12, 2004, to April 8, 2021, highlighting a prolonged period of illegal activity.
The police investigation uncovered a staggering collection of illegal images.
They found 792 still images and 202 moving images classified as Category A, which is the highest level within the sentencing guidelines.
These images depicted rape and torture involving children and animals, underscoring the severity of the crimes.
In addition, authorities discovered 1,827 still images and 123 moving images categorized as Category B, along with an astonishing 211,748 still images and 1,592 moving images classified as Category C, which includes less severe but still illegal content.
His Honour Judge Nicholas Cartwright presided over the case and ordered Ford to return to court on June 2 for sentencing.
The judge also mandated that Ford immediately sign the sex offenders’ register, a legal requirement for individuals convicted of such offences.
Furthermore, Ford was instructed to cooperate fully with the probation service in preparing a pre-sentence report, which is a standard part of the sentencing process.
The judge clarified that Ford’s bail was contingent upon this cooperation and emphasized that the decision regarding his actual sentence would be made by the court on the scheduled date.
Following the court session, Ford was seen leaving the courthouse on the steps on Monday afternoon, April 17.
He hurriedly entered a waiting vehicle, possibly eager to leave the scene of the proceedings.
The case remains ongoing, with sentencing scheduled for June, and the authorities have made it clear that the severity of the evidence against Ford warrants serious consideration of a custodial sentence.
