AHMED KHALIO AND SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULT IN LIVERPOOL

Ahmed Khalio, a man who is married and the father of an 11-month-old son, has no prior criminal record.

His recent conviction and sentencing stem from a disturbing incident involving a teenage girl in Liverpool, which has shocked the local community and prompted a serious legal response.

The incident occurred on the girl’s 16th birthday, a day that should have been a celebration but was marred by Khalio’s heinous actions inside a convenience store located on Scargreen Avenue in the Norris Green area of Liverpool.

The court proceedings revealed that Khalio, who was employed as a part-time shop assistant at the Go Local store, engaged in a sexual assault that left the young girl traumatized.

According to the court's account, the teenage girl was alone in the store, still dressed in her school uniform, when she entered on her special day.

She was on her way home from school, and her visit to the store was routine until Khalio’s inappropriate conduct began.

The prosecutor, Andrew McInnes, detailed how Khalio initially followed her as she approached the checkout counter, touching her on her bottom in a manner that was clearly unwelcome.

The court heard that Khalio then moved to the front of the store, only to return behind the girl, pressing his body against her from behind and pinning her against the counter.

During this assault, he asked her personal questions, including whether she loved him and how old she was, while also instructing her not to tell anyone about what was happening.

His actions escalated as he lifted her skirt and began touching her legs and thighs, continuing to assault her over her underwear.

The assault lasted approximately a few minutes, a duration that felt like an eternity for the young victim.

Her ordeal was interrupted when another customer entered the store, prompting Khalio to quickly step back and allow her to escape.

The girl was left in a state of fear and shock, and she reported the incident to the police later that evening after confiding in a friend about what had transpired.

During her testimony, she recounted telling Khalio to get off her, but he persisted despite her protests.

She also described feeling so frightened that she was unable to scream or shout for help.

When questioned during police interviews, Khalio admitted to flirting with the girl, whom he believed was 17 years old, but he denied touching her private areas or lifting her skirt.

He claimed that his actions were merely “messing around.” Khalio, residing on Webster Road in Wavertree, was brought before the court and found guilty of four counts of sexual assault following a trial before magistrates.

His defense attorney, Sam Parham, expressed remorse on his behalf, stating that Khalio was “extremely sorry for his actions and any negative impact on this young lady.” The court’s sentencing was delivered by the Honorary Recorder of Liverpool, Judge Andrew Menary KC, who emphasized the gravity of Khalio’s misconduct.

Khalio was sentenced to six months in prison, a seven-year notification requirement, and was issued a restraining order that prohibits him from contacting the victim for the next two years.

The judge condemned Khalio’s behavior, describing it as “outrageous,” and pointed out that he had taken advantage of the girl’s vulnerability, knowing she was alone and unaccompanied.

Judge Menary highlighted that the assault, which lasted only a few minutes, must have felt like an eternity for the victim.

Despite Khalio’s expressions of remorse, the judge noted that he continued to deny the severity of his actions, which he described as a “sickening attack.” The court’s verdict underscores the seriousness with which such violations are treated in Liverpool, reaffirming the community’s stance against sexual misconduct and the importance of protecting young victims from predatory behavior.
