Update: Now living in Newcastle Emlyn February 2019 Sex offender jailed for computer use A registered sex offender has been jailed after being caught using a computer in his local job centre. Adrian Thomas, of Robert Street, Milford Haven, appeared from custody at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, February 5. Thomas, 25, pleaded guilty to logging onto a public computer at the job centre in Milford Haven, which he was prevented from doing by a sexual harm prevention order, on February 4. Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, prosecuting, said the order was imposed in August 2017, with conditions stopping him from using equipment which could access the internet. He added that Thomas could only use the job centre computers if given prior written permission by his supervising police officer. The court heard that he had used the computer for around five minutes, and it was not known what he had accessed on the equipment. Thomas, who was previously convicted of grooming, claimed he had been using the computer to check progress on his benefits after securing a new flat. Magistrates sentenced Thomas to 12 weeks in prison and ordered him to pay £200 in costs and a surcharge. August 2017 Haverfordwest man jailed for grooming 14-year-old girl for sex A Haverfordwest man contacted a 14-year-old girl over the internet and within 48 hours was arranging to have sex with her. It was the second time that Adrian John Thomas, aged 24, had been caught grooming an underage girl for sex. Thomas, of Upper Market Street, admitted meeting a child after grooming her for sex and was jailed for 16 months today, August 3, by a judge at Swansea crown court. Robin Rouch, prosecuting, said Thomas contacted his latest victim via a Facebook page and the conversation quickly turned to sex. Thomas asked her is she was a virgin and she told him she had slept with two men “but it could soon become three,” the court heard. Within two days Thomas had arranged to meet her at Swansea railway station. Before leaving Haverfordwest he sold his mobile telephone at a Cash Generator store possibly, said Mr Rouch, to get rid of the messages he had been sending her. After meeting up they were seen kissing and cuddling in the station waiting area, and later that day they travelled to Thomas’ home. When the girl did not return home that night the police were contacted and they traced her to Haverfordwest. At 4.15 in the morning they went to Thomas’ home and found her in his bed. Mr Rouch said Thomas maintained that nothing sexual had happened and the girl had refused to co-operate with the police. At first Thomas claimed to have met her by chance while in Swansea and that he thought she was over 16, although police thought she looked 12 or 13. The court heard that in March last year Thomas had been cautioned by the police for inciting a 13-year-old girl to engage in a sexual activity. Carina Hughes, representing Thomas, said his baby daughter had been born while he had been in custody awaiting sentence. He had not seen her and probably never would, she added. Judge Peter Heywood said that, in view of the earlier caution for very similar offending, he was worried that Thomas was an ongoing danger to young girls. As well as the prison sentence Thomas was made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order banning him from contacting anyone aged under 16. He was also ordered to register with the police as a sex offender.
