ADRIAN SCOTT SENTENCED IN BOSCOMBE FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES

Adrian Scott, 58, of Tidworth Road, Boscombe, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to multiple child sexual offences, including ten counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, six counts of inciting a boy to engage in sexual activity without penetration, three counts of creating indecent photographs of a child, one count of paying for sexual services of a boy without penetration, and distributing an indecent photograph of a child.

On Wednesday, November 24, Scott was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison for all charges and was handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

He was also committed to an indefinite period on the sex offenders register.

The investigation was part of a national effort into child sexual abuse and exploitation linked to a website hosted in New Zealand, where Scott was identified as having an account and uploading or sharing several files, despite his claim to be 16 years old.

In April 2020, Wiltshire Police’s Child Internet Exploitation Team executed a search warrant at his address in Great Durnford, Salisbury.

During the search, officers seized multiple items and uncovered evidence that Scott had been using online platforms to pose as a 16-year-old boy, communicating with others about indecent images.

He also used chat sites to encourage boys as young as 13 to perform sexual acts, with payments transferred online on more than one occasion.

Investigators recovered a total of 1,459 images and videos related to the case.

Detective Constable Jason Walsh of Wiltshire Police’s Child Internet Exploitation Team stated, “Cases such as this are often shocking and disturbing, and our job is to safeguard the victims.

We are pleased to have secured a custodial sentence for Scott and this is testament to some superb partnership work.

We will continue to act on intelligence we receive on these abhorrent crimes and will ensure the internet is not a safe place for individuals like Scott to prey on the most vulnerable in our communities.”
