ADRIAN COMPTON FROM DUDLEY CAUGHT WITH MORE SICKENING IMAGES IN WORCESTER
In a disturbing development, Adrian Compton, a convicted child sex offender from Dudley, was found in possession of additional heinous images depicting minors, raising serious concerns about his ongoing threat to the community. Despite his criminal history, Compton was allowed to remain free under strict conditions, following a decision by Judge Amjad Nawaz, who emphasized the importance of treatment over incarceration.Judge Nawaz stated that it was in the best interests of public safety for Compton to undergo specialized treatment to address what he described as his 'deep rooted problems.' However, the judge made it clear that this was Compton’s final opportunity to reform, warning him sternly: "If you do not throw your weight behind this new order then the only sentence that remains is imprisonment."
Compton, aged 50 and residing on Salop Street in Dudley, had previously been sentenced to three years in prison at Worcester Crown Court in 2009 for charges including inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and creating indecent images of children. He was also subject to a sexual offenders protection order and was still on licence at the time of the recent incident.
The police conducted an unannounced visit to Compton’s residence, during which officers observed him removing a video from his computer. When the video was played, it was revealed to contain 58 indecent images of children classified at level one. In addition, the officers recovered three images at level two, two at level three, and three at level four—the latter being the most severe category. The police also found two movies, one at level one and another at level two, further illustrating the extent of his offending material.
Following his arrest, Compton admitted to police that he had experienced a relapse, stating, "I have had a relapse," and confessed that he had been accessing the internet specifically to view these images for his sexual gratification. His admission was made during his appearance at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Representing Compton, solicitor Gurdeep Garcha, explained that he had been detained for eight months following his arrest and emphasized that Compton was dealing with significant issues that required professional intervention. Garcha added, "He has problems that need addressing," and expressed concern that the support Compton had received since his previous arrest had not been sufficient to prevent his relapse.
In response, the judge ordered Compton to be placed under supervision for a period of three years. He was also mandated to attend a specialized sex offenders programme and a new sexual offenders protection order was issued to reinforce restrictions on his conduct. The court’s decision underscores the ongoing risks posed by Compton and the importance of continued monitoring and treatment to protect the community of Dudley and beyond.
