ADAM WARREN FROM CRAWLEY SENTENCED TO 20 YEARS FOR ABUSING YOUNG GIRLS IN LEWES COURT

In a case that has shocked the local community of Crawley and the surrounding areas, Adam Warren has been handed a severe prison sentence of 20 years following his conviction for a series of heinous sexual offenses committed against two young girls. The sentencing took place at Lewes Crown Court on a Monday, bringing closure to a lengthy and distressing legal process.

Warren, aged 35 and residing on Warnham Road in Crawley, was found guilty on May 19 after a retrial, which was necessary due to the initial jury being unable to reach a verdict during the first trial last year. His crimes spanned over several years and involved multiple instances of sexual abuse against the two victims, who were only seven and six years old when the abuse began.

The details of the offenses are particularly disturbing. One of the girls was subjected to a rape, four separate sexual assaults, an attempted sexual assault, and an offense of incitement to engage in sexual activity. These crimes occurred over a period of four years, highlighting a prolonged pattern of abuse. The second girl endured five rapes and one sexual assault over a three-year period, illustrating the repeated nature of Warren’s predatory behavior.

Detective Constable Nathalie Bundy, a member of the West Sussex Child Protection Team, emphasized the importance of the victims’ bravery in coming forward. She stated, “This outcome is due to the immeasurable courage shown by the victims in coming forward to the police and giving evidence at two trials, as a jury was unable to agree on verdicts at the first trial last year.”

She further added, “This sends another message that we will always take such reports seriously and will seek to achieve justice for victims, however long ago the offences are said to have happened.” The case underscores the ongoing commitment of law enforcement agencies in West Sussex to protect vulnerable children and ensure that offenders are held accountable, regardless of the passage of time or the complexity of the legal process.
