ADAM NOBLE FROM HESSAY, YORK, JAILED FOR SEX OFFENCES INVOLVING UNDER-AGE GIRLS IN YORK

In a case that has shocked the local community, Adam Noble, a 24-year-old mechanic from Hessay near York, was sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being found guilty of engaging in sexual activities with two under-age girls. The offences, which took place in and around York, revealed a disturbing pattern of predatory behavior that spanned over several months.

According to court proceedings, Noble deliberately targeted one girl who was only 13 years old at the time, fully aware of her age but choosing to pursue a sexual relationship with her nonetheless. The York Crown Court heard that Noble had a prolonged sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl, which began when he was 21. When that relationship ended, he quickly moved on to another teenage girl, with whom he also engaged in sexual acts.

Evidence presented during the trial indicated that Noble not only had sexual relations with these minors but also encouraged the younger girl to send him indecent photographs of herself. Court records revealed that he was actively pestering her to find a friend willing to join them for group sex, further demonstrating his predatory intent. Text messages from Noble’s phone showed that he was aware of the risks involved, as he told the younger girl they needed to be cautious to avoid being caught, warning her that if they were discovered, he could face a prison sentence of up to five years.

Throughout the trial, Noble maintained that he believed both girls were over 16, a claim contradicted by the evidence. His defense argued that he was acting out of care and affection, with his solicitor, David Dixon, stating that Noble was also the carer for his unwell father. However, the court was not convinced by these arguments. Noble faced six charges in total—three for each girl—covering sexual activity and one additional charge involving the younger girl in producing pornography by sending erotic images.

Judge Recorder Martin Bethen QC delivered a stern verdict, emphasizing that Noble had knowingly targeted a 13-year-old girl for sexual purposes. The judge stated, “Not only did you know she was 13 years old throughout the time of these offences, but you deliberately targeted her for sex. My clear view is as far as you were concerned she was not a girlfriend, she was a sex object.” The judge also expressed disappointment that Noble, even after his conviction, continued to deny full responsibility for his actions, as reflected in the pre-sentence report.

Sentencing was handed down with a significant degree of severity. Noble received a sentence of four and a half years for each of the three counts related to the 13-year-old girl, with an additional 12 months for causing a child to produce indecent images, all to be served concurrently. An extra 18 months was added for sex offences involving the older girl, to be served consecutively, resulting in a total prison term that reflects the gravity of his crimes.

Earlier in June 2013, Noble faced similar allegations, which led to his being placed on the sex offenders’ register and facing potential jail time. During that trial, evidence was presented that Noble had supplied cannabis to the 14-year-old girl, abused her, and attempted to manipulate her emotionally by threatening self-harm if she ended their relationship. After the relationship with the first girl ended, Noble then engaged in sexual activities with a 13-year-old girl, with incidents occurring in various locations including fields, open areas, and indoor settings within the York area.

Text messages from Noble confirmed his awareness of the girls’ ages and the need for secrecy, as he warned the younger girl that they could be caught and face imprisonment. Despite claiming he believed both girls were over 16, the jury found him guilty of four counts of sexual activity with a child. The judge acknowledged that Noble initially started the relationship innocently but continued to have sex with the under-age girl after realizing her age, a fact that compounded the seriousness of his actions.

As the case concludes, Noble’s sentencing is scheduled for next month, with authorities emphasizing the importance of protecting minors from predatory individuals like him. The community remains concerned about the extent of his offenses and the breach of trust involved in these disturbing cases.
