SPALDING MAN RECEIVES COMMUNITY ORDER FOR ASSAULTING GIRLFRIEND
A man named Adam Lacey, aged 28, of St Paul’s Road, Spalding, was involved in a violent assault on his girlfriend, Faye Childs. The incident occurred on September 26, during a housewarming party where both had been drinking heavily along with friends. According to court reports, Lacey, who was significantly intoxicated and unable to remember his actions, knocked Ms. Childs to the ground and proceeded to punch and kick her multiple times in the head area. This attack resulted in visible injuries including a black eye, and injuries to her jaw and cheek. Despite having no prior convictions, Lacey pleaded guilty to assault by beating. The magistrates sentenced him to a year-long community order, requiring 100 hours of unpaid work and a 15-day rehabilitation activity. Additionally, he was ordered to pay £200 in compensation, along with court costs, a victim surcharge, and a court fee. Lacey expressed remorse, stating he was ashamed and that he had lost the "best thing he ever had". His solicitor noted that Lacey’s personality had changed following a serious road accident two years prior, which resulted in a traumatic head injury, and that he was currently undergoing neuropsychological assessment and had ceased drinking.
