NOTTINGHAM WOMAN BEATER JAILED FOR 15 MONTHS AFTER BRIDGE JUMP
A woman beater jumped off a bridge and into a stream when police came to arrest him for attacking his partner.Nottingham Crown Court heard how Adam Gladders repeatedly punched the victim at her flat after drinking in Nottingham.
He then jumped into the water but was brought out and arrested.
Police noted the victim had repeatedly punched her in the face and smashed a bottle, with shards of glass found inside the flat.
Gladders pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault by beating, and criminal damage, also admitting breaches of a previous court order for assaulting the same victim.
Judge Stuart Rafferty KC sentenced him to 15 months in jail, emphasizing the importance of respecting partners and noting this was his third assault on the victim.
