ADAM ELLIOTT FROM BALHAM CONVICTED OF ANIMAL NEGLECT IN MORDEN

In a disturbing case of animal neglect, Adam Elliott, a resident of Foxbourne Road in Balham, London SW17 8EW, was found guilty in 2016 of failing to properly care for a mother dog and her six puppies. The RSPCA officers conducted a raid on Elliott's residence in Morden, where they uncovered a heartbreaking scene of neglect and squalor. The animals, including a three-legged Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Caramel and her six puppies, were discovered living in deplorable conditions, deprived of adequate food and water.

During the investigation, Elliott admitted to three charges related to the mistreatment of the dogs. These charges included two counts of failing to provide proper nutrition and one count of neglecting to maintain a clean and safe living environment for the animals. The puppies, who were given the names Susan, Wendy, Jennifer, Carol, Fiona, and Alison, along with their mother Caramel, were rescued and are now in the process of being re-homed to loving families.

RSPCA inspector Kate Fletcher expressed her concern about the condition of Caramel, emphasizing the severity of the neglect. She stated, “Caramel, in particular, was worrying. You could see her ribs and spine, and the environment was just unacceptable for all of them – especially such young pups – they were living in their own filth.”

As a result of his conviction, Adam Elliott received a community order requiring him to complete 100 hours of unpaid work. Additionally, he was ordered to pay £720 in costs and was disqualified from owning or keeping dogs for a period of ten years, a ban that will expire in February 2026. This case highlights the ongoing efforts of animal welfare organizations to combat neglect and ensure the proper care of vulnerable animals in the London area.
