Update: Also goes by the name of Adam Lloyd December 2014 University student had sex with underage girl in disused hospital after meeting her on Facebook A uni student who met an under-age girl on Facebook and then had sex with her at the site of a disused hospital in Denbigh escaped immediate custody. The girl was 14, appeared to have been encouraged by friends, and had been a willing participant. But she felt used, Mold Crown Court was told. Amateur sprinter and sports coach Adam Tristan Eden, aged 21, of Maes LLiwen at Nantglyn, near Denbigh, told her that he had finished with his girlfriend that day. But after they had intercourse he said he was expecting to go back to his girlfriend the following day. Eden – following a sports development degree course – was due to go on trial today but he changed his plea and admitted sexual activity with a child in the summer of 2012. Judge Merfyn Hughes QC said that he and the girl exchanged intimate images of each other and it was agreed to meet the following night. Intercourse took place without a condom and the judge said that while she consented to sex with him, that was no excuse whatsoever. “The reason for that is that she is under the age of consent. “Girls of that age need to be protected from those who are older, like you, who are looking to have sexual activity with young girls. Eden had been arrested in January last year and no reasonable explanation had been given for the inexcusable delay which he had to take into account. He was a young man of no previous convictions following a university course, there was no significant disparity of age, and while he did himself no favours by not being honest with the police, he had avoided the girl and her friends the ordeal of giving evidence. Eden received a 12 month prison sentence suspended for 18 months, and ordered to undertake 240 hours unpaid work. He was ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years and in addition Eden, who has been coaching children to play football, was disqualified from working with children in any way.. Prosecuting barrister Karl Scholz said the girl had seen the defendant about, because friends with him on Facebook through someone else, and one of her friends wrote him a Facebook message saying “come and have sex with me”, pretending to be her. They went on a web cam where she took off her top and it was alleged that he showed her his penis. He asked for sex, she agreed and they agreed to meet up for sex at the grounds of the former Denbigh mental hospital the following night. She had told him she was 15 but they went to a secluded spot where intercourse took place. No condom was used and she arranged to get the morning after pill. He told her after sex took place that he had broken up with his girlfriend that day but that he was expecting to get back with her the following day. She felt used and contacted his girlfriend via Facebook to tell her what had happened. She later told her mother who confronted the defendant and the police were contacted.
