ADAM DUPUIS AND SHOCKING SEXUAL OFFENCES IN PRESTON
Adam Dupuis, a 57-year-old resident of Acrefield in Preston, has been convicted of a series of serious sexual offences committed against six different victims. The crimes, which spanned from 2014 to 2020, included a range of disturbing acts such as sexual assault by penetration, non-penetrative sexual assault, exposure, and other forms of sexual activity that caused significant harm to those involved.
Dupuis had consistently denied all charges brought against him.
However, after a comprehensive two-week trial at Preston Crown Court, the jury found him guilty of all counts.
The court's decision resulted in a substantial prison sentence of ten years and eight months.
Additionally, Dupuis was ordered to sign the sex offender register for the rest of his life, a measure intended to monitor and restrict his activities following his release.
The investigation was led by Detective Constable Lisa Hough, who is part of the South CID unit.
She publicly commended the victims for their bravery in coming forward and giving evidence in court, despite the trauma they endured.
DC Hough expressed her satisfaction with the severity of the sentence, emphasizing that it removes a dangerous sexual predator from the community for a considerable period.
She also conveyed her hope that the conviction and sentence would encourage other victims of sexual abuse to come forward, reassuring them that law enforcement agencies are committed to conducting thorough, professional, and sensitive investigations.
The goal, she stated, is to ensure that offenders are brought to justice and that victims feel supported and protected throughout the process.
