ADAM DORE FROM GREAT HARWOOD SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD INDECENT IMAGES
In April 2021, a disturbing case emerged involving a man from Great Harwood who was found to possess some of the most heinous indecent images of children ever encountered by law enforcement officers. The severity of the material discovered on his devices shocked even seasoned police personnel, highlighting the gravity of the offense.Authorities had seized multiple electronic devices belonging to Adam Dore in 2019, during an investigation prompted by an email address linked to him that had been used to download an indecent picture. The investigation intensified when officers visited Dore’s residence on Town Hall Street, Great Harwood, following reports and intelligence suggesting his involvement in such illicit activities.
During the search, law enforcement officials uncovered a disturbing collection of images on Dore’s Samsung S9 smartphone. Among these were numerous indecent images classified as Category A, which is designated for the most severe and repulsive material involving children. The images included children as young as four years old, underscoring the depravity of the content found.
In his police interview, the 44-year-old Dore claimed that he had been sent various links through online chats, which he admitted led him to download the illegal images. He acknowledged that he had accessed the internet for pornography but vehemently denied any interest in children or any involvement in child exploitation. Despite his claims, the evidence against him was overwhelming, and the images found on his devices painted a clear picture of his culpability.
Following the investigation, Dore was brought before the court, where Judge Sara Dodd delivered her sentence. She described the images as the worst she had seen in her extensive career reviewing such material, emphasizing the seriousness of the case. The judge pointed out that the fact the images included videos made the offense even more grave.
While acknowledging the severity of the crime, Judge Dodd also considered the possibility of rehabilitation. She noted that Dore had been remarkably open and honest during his interview, which provided some hope for his potential to reform. Consequently, she imposed a three-year community order with specific conditions, rather than immediate custody.
As part of his sentence, Dore is required to attend 30 days of rehabilitation programs and complete 150 hours of unpaid work. Additionally, he will be subject to notification requirements under the Sexual Offences Act and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order will be in place for five years, restricting his activities and monitoring his behavior to prevent further offenses.
Overall, the case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the distribution and possession of child abuse images, and highlights the serious consequences faced by those involved in such heinous crimes, even when they attempt to deny or minimize their actions.
