ABIGAIL KIKKE FROM CUMBERNAULD INVOLVED IN CHILD SEX ABUSE AND DISTRIBUTION OF INDECENT IMAGES

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Cumbernauld, 27-year-old Abigail Kikke has been implicated in heinous acts involving the sexual abuse of a two-year-old girl and the distribution of indecent images. The allegations came to light after police officers executed a search warrant at her mother’s residence in Cumbernauld, uncovering a troubling collection of illicit material on her mobile device.

During the investigation, authorities discovered a video recording of Kikke engaging in sexual acts with the young girl, which lasted nearly two minutes, as well as another video of five minutes’ duration. These recordings were made while the child was asleep in a cot, raising grave concerns about her exploitation. In addition to these videos, police found a total of 69 indecent photographs stored on her phone, depicting children ranging in age from three to fourteen years old.

Prosecutor Shanti Maguire detailed the extent of Kikke’s online activities, revealing that she had sent a disturbing video of herself abusing the toddler to an online contact known as 'Daddy'. This contact was part of a disturbing exchange where Kikke discussed her financial struggles, claiming she was in debt and self-isolating due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She admitted to sending images of the girl, including one of her in a nappy, to this individual via the messaging app Kik. The prosecutor also disclosed that Kikke had engaged in conversations with another online user called 'Hollow', who had asked her to perform sexual acts on the child.

Further investigations uncovered that Kikke had been in contact with a man named Gary Smith, aged 43, from Wigan, who was later convicted of related sexual offences. Kikke had sent images of the girl to Smith, who was identified as 'gs1177 Mike D'. Smith was sentenced to six months in prison for distributing indecent images and 32 months for attempting to facilitate child sex offences, following his conviction at Bolton Crown Court.

In her online exchanges, Kikke claimed she was struggling financially and was in a difficult mental state, which she attributed to the pandemic. She also discussed receiving money from 'Daddy', who purportedly was a successful stock trader willing to take her and the child abroad on holiday. Despite her pleas and exchanges, her actions have led to serious criminal charges, including taking or permitting the taking of indecent images of children and possession of such photographs between March 18 and March 26, 2020.

At the hearing, Kikke, now residing in Alloa, Clackmannanshire, showed no visible emotion as she was remanded into custody. Her case has been adjourned until October, with the judge, Lord Sandison, awaiting background reports before passing sentence. Her legal representative, Ronnie Renucci QC, acknowledged that a custodial sentence was inevitable but emphasized that these offences occurred during a particularly dark period in her life.
