ABDAL KHALID FROM LONGSIGHT SENTENCED FOR PREDATORY ONLINE SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST YOUNG GIRLS

In October 2019, a disturbing case emerged involving Abdul Khalid, a resident of Longsight, who engaged in highly inappropriate and illegal online communications with young girls. The court was informed that Khalid, driven by malicious intent, used Facebook to contact multiple minors, including a 12-year-old girl, with the explicit aim of sexually exploiting them.

According to court records, Khalid explicitly expressed his desire to sexually assault the young girls and even spoke about impregnating them. One of his victims, a girl aged just 12, was subjected to his disturbing messages in which he stated he wanted "to do you and your friends." He also communicated with a 15-year-old girl, expressing eagerness to meet her in person and engage in sexual activity. Khalid's conversations with another girl included plans to meet in a park located in Stretford, where he expressed a desire to "touch her all over," revealing his predatory intentions.

Investigators recovered chat logs from Facebook that detailed Khalid’s explicit and alarming language. In these messages, he openly discussed his intentions to make one girl pregnant and explicitly mentioned his desire to "rape" her. Further messages revealed his wish to impregnate another girl and included explicit content. Prosecutors highlighted that Khalid also told a different girl he wanted to have sex with her while she was wearing her school uniform, underscoring the disturbing nature of his communications.

Despite his online threats and intentions, Khalid never followed through with meeting any of his victims in person. When police officers seized his phone during an investigation, he refused to provide the password, stating, "I will let you hack into it," which hindered efforts to uncover more evidence. It was revealed that Khalid was already serving a three-year prison sentence, imposed in February 2017, for similar offences involving two counts of inciting a child into sexual activity.

The new charges against Khalid only came to light after his previous sentencing at Minshull Street Crown Court. The offences were uncovered during a separate police investigation into his phones, which was initially related to a conspiracy to commit fraud. As a result, Khalid faced additional charges, including four counts of attempting to incite a child into sexual activity and one count of inciting a child into sexual activity. Notably, he was only charged with one completed offence involving the 12-year-old girl, as authorities could only trace her.

At Manchester Crown Court, Khalid, of Copthorne Crescent, was sentenced to an additional 32 months in prison. His criminal history is extensive, with 15 previous convictions, including offences related to drugs and motoring violations. Judge David Stockdale QC described the offences as very serious, emphasizing the element of grooming involved. The judge condemned Khalid’s actions as cynical and exploitative, highlighting that he preyed on naive young girls for his own sexual gratification. The judge concluded by stating that Khalid’s acts demonstrated a complete disregard for the welfare of his victims, characterizing his behaviour as selfish and morally reprehensible.
