January 2012 Bampton man jailed over stash of child abuse images A man has been jailed for downloading hundreds of images of the worst level of child abuse. Aaron Smee, 25, of Aston, near Bampton, was found with 1,012 images and 14 video files downloaded between September 2006 and December 2009. More than 215 of them were rated at the most severe. He previously admitted two counts of making indecent photographs of children and was sentenced yesterday at Oxford Crown Court. Recorder Christopher Quinlan jailed him for a year, ordered him to sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years, and banned him from using the Internet unsupervised for five years.
