AARON LEE WILDEY SENTENCED IN CARLISLE FOR COERCIVE CONTROL AND REVENGE PORN CRIMES
Aaron Lee Wildey, a 35-year-old resident of Manor Place in Carlisle, faced the full weight of the law today, 25th May, when he was formally sentenced at Carlisle Crown Court for a series of serious criminal offences.The court heard that Wildey engaged in a pattern of coercive and controlling behaviour towards his victim, a conduct that inflicted significant emotional and psychological harm.
In addition to the coercive control charges, Wildey was found guilty of common assault, a charge that underscores the physical aspect of his abusive conduct.
Furthermore, he was convicted of disclosing private photographs with the intent to cause distress, a crime that highlights the malicious intent behind his actions and the profound violation of his victim’s privacy.
Wildey is also subject to a restraining order that prohibits him from making any contact with his victim for a period of four years.
This legal measure was put in place to protect the victim from further harm and to prevent any form of harassment or intimidation.
Wildey had previously admitted to these offences during a hearing held last month, acknowledging his guilt in the matter.
Detective Constable James O’Connor, a member of the North Crime and Safeguarding Team, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the case.
He stated, “I am pleased that Wildey has been brought to justice for his crimes.
Wildey subjected his victim to a prolonged abusive relationship making her feel worthless.
There is simply no place for this in society and Wildey deserves time in prison.” He further added, “Even during their relationship he committed a revenge porn offence by posting an intimate picture of his partner on social media.
I would like to praise the victim for her bravery.
What she was subjected to is traumatising and I hope that today’s sentencing can bring her some form of closure.”
