AARON KENDALL SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN TELFORD

A 32-year-old man from Telford has been formally sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being found guilty of multiple heinous crimes involving a young girl. Aaron Kendall, whose residence is listed as Furlong Green in Lightmoor, received a 15-year prison sentence on Friday, January 19, at Shrewsbury Crown Court. The conviction stems from a series of serious sexual offences committed against a girl under the age of 13, with Kendall facing a total of 15 counts related to these disturbing acts.

In October 2023, Kendall entered a guilty plea to the charges, which included four counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching, three counts of assault involving penetration with a part of his body or an object, three counts of rape of a girl under 13, and five counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 15, despite being over 18. The charges reveal a pattern of predatory behaviour spanning several years, with the offences occurring between 2018 and 2023.

Authorities responded swiftly after the victim reported the crimes, with Kendall being arrested approximately 20 minutes later. The police investigation uncovered the extent of his actions, leading to the charges that culminated in his sentencing. The case has shocked the local community in Telford, highlighting the grave nature of the offences committed against a vulnerable young girl.

Detective Constable Izzy Broxton commented on the case, describing it as both harrowing and shocking. She emphasized the profound and lasting trauma inflicted upon the young victim, stating, “This case is harrowing and shocking and Kendall caused what is likely to be lifelong trauma to a child, and even though I welcome this sentence, no sentence can ever provide justice for the survivor or their family.” Broxton also praised the resilience of the victim and their family, acknowledging their unwavering determination and bravery throughout the lengthy investigation. She expressed hope that they can now begin to move forward from this traumatic chapter.

In addition to his prison sentence, Kendall was subjected to further legal restrictions. He was handed a 20-year sexual harm prevention order and a 20-year restraining order prohibiting any contact with the victim. Furthermore, he will be registered on the sex offenders register until further notice, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and preventing any potential future harm. The case underscores the importance of swift law enforcement action and the ongoing need to protect vulnerable children from predators within the community of Telford.
