Papa John's pizza delivery driver pulled down woman's trousers during sex attack

PAPA JOHN'S PIZZA DELIVERY DRIVER PULLED DOWN WOMAN'S TROUSERS DURING SEX ATTACK

A pizza delivery driver subjected a young woman in her late teens to a disturbing assault, forcing her into a room before removing her trousers and sexually assaulting her.

Ionut-Adrian Ciocirlan, residing on Heather View Road in Poole, was delivering for Papa John's in The Broadway, Broadstone when he committed the assault on September 17, 2017.

Now aged 27, the defendant denied two charges of sexual assault.

Nonetheless, after a trial at Bournemouth Crown Court, he was found guilty.

During the proceedings, the jury heard that Ciocirlan approached the woman, who was in her late teens, and subjected her to sexual assault through groping.

He then forced her into a separate room, pulled down her trousers, and carried out an additional serious sexual offence.

The victim, who knew Ciocirlan personally, was able to escape.

She confided in a friend and subsequently reported the incident to Dorset Police three days later.

Ciocirlan was detained at his residence on September 22, 2017.

He has been sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for two years, and is subject to a three-month curfew from 7pm to 4am.

He is also required to register as a sex offender for the next ten years and must pay a £140 victim surcharge along with £1,000 in compensation.
