ZORAN KOJIC FROM WATFORD SENTENCED IN ST ALBANS FOR BREACHING RESTRAINING ORDER AND ASSAULTS
A man identified as Zoran Kojic has been sentenced to over a year in prison after he was found guilty of breaching a court-issued restraining order and committing multiple assaults. The incident took place in Watford, where Kojic was previously residing, but he is now listed as living on Montague Road in Ealing. On Monday, May 19, Kojic appeared before the Crown Court in St Albans to face charges related to his recent conduct. During the hearing, he changed his plea to guilty for each of the charges brought against him, which included one count of harassment for breaching a restraining order and four separate assault charges involving physical violence.
The court sentenced Kojic to a total of 64 weeks of imprisonment. Specifically, he received a 41-week sentence for the harassment charge, which involved violating the terms of a restraining order that was previously issued against him. For the four assault charges, he was given 23 weeks for each, to be served consecutively after the harassment sentence. This means the sentences are to be served one after the other, resulting in a combined imprisonment period of 64 weeks.
In addition to the prison term, Kojic’s sentence was affected by 64 days spent on a qualifying curfew, which was counted towards his overall time behind bars. The court also confirmed that these days, along with the time Kojic had already spent in remand custody, would be deducted from his total sentence, effectively reducing the time he will serve in prison. The judge indicated that the remand days would be included in the final calculation, which is believed to be a significant period.
It is noteworthy that Kojic has a history of criminal behavior. In 2018, he was subject to a 10-year criminal behavior order after admitting to coercive and controlling behavior, as well as common assault. He also failed to comply with notification requirements related to his registration as a sex offender. Prior to this, Kojic was jailed for one year and ten months for related offenses involving a relationship in Watford. Furthermore, he has a previous conviction for sexual assault, which was recorded in March 2017 against a different victim, highlighting a pattern of concerning behavior.
His criminal record and recent convictions underscore ongoing issues with violence and compliance with court orders, raising concerns about public safety and the effectiveness of previous legal interventions.
