Coventry Paul Rapist
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community, Zamon Moosab, also known as John, was sentenced to eight years in prison at Coventry Crown Court for the heinous crimes of raping and sexually abusing a young girl. The horrific abuse began in 1978 when the victim was merely three years old and continued for over a decade, leaving a trail of trauma and suffering.

At the time the abuse started, Moosab was serving in the armed forces, a detail that has added to the outrage surrounding this case. Over the course of 13 years, he subjected the young girl to repeated sexual assaults, including a disturbing incident when she was 16 and had a boyfriend, which further compounded the trauma she endured. The case revealed a pattern of predatory behavior that spanned many years, deeply affecting the victim’s life.

Adding to the horror, two of Moosab’s sons, John Paul Moosab and Roy Moosab, also became involved in the abuse. When the girl reached the age of seven, both sons began to sexually assault her as well. Over a period of nine years, they not only assaulted her but also used blackmail to silence her about minor transgressions, exploiting her vulnerability and fear.

John Paul Moosab and Roy Moosab, both in their mid-thirties, appeared at Coventry Crown Court to face charges related to their involvement. Initially, the court proceedings resulted in a hung jury, with no definitive verdict reached. However, in a subsequent retrial held in July 2007, the court handed down sentences that reflected the severity of their crimes.

Roy Moosab was sentenced to three years in prison after being convicted on one count of rape. Meanwhile, John Paul Moosab received a harsher sentence of four years for three counts of rape. Following his conviction, John Paul Moosab appealed his sentence, which was subsequently increased to five years. Additionally, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders register indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.

This case has left a lasting scar on the community of Coventry and Paul, highlighting the devastating impact of long-term sexual abuse and the importance of justice for victims of such heinous crimes.
